Brazos Riverside Cottage - Family, Fun Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. There were beautiful views! The Pros: The property has beautiful windows that span the living area, which makes for wonderful views while cooking, eating, & playing games. They have a very comfortable couch for movie time. They had multiple outdoor seating areas and the river is just a short jaunt from the house. You can even see the river from inside the house. There was tons of wildlife in the area: deer, owls, hawks, many birds, snakes, frogs, etc. The location was perfect for what we needed. We needed to be close to an event center for an event we were attending. Also, it is close to Slovacek's truck stop, which had great Kolaches. The Cons: There are not any blackout curtains in the bedrooms, but they have a motion sensor light right by the bedrooms that goes off every time the grass blows. It shines right through the curtains. Our sleep was so disruptive. In addition to the light all night, the beds and bed pillows are not great either. They are not terrible, but could use replacing/upgrading. Also, the house had a slight smell. The house was clean and the linens were clean but the house itself had a lingering maybe sewer smell that you get hit with upon entry. The shower was also super weird. They only have one bathroom, but the shower does not have a privacy door/curtain and it is just open on the other half. We also saw two copper-headed vipers while trying to enter the property, so be snake aware if staying here.

Cozy little house nestled on a quiet and secluded road. Has plenty of cooking and eating utensils and was bright and inviting.

Property was amazing, house very cozy. Very close to waco and friends in hillsboro.
